We had flown all night, so when we first arrived we just wanted to nap in our hotel room for a while. Then we went out to dinner at this restaurant right next to our hotel. So this is the first picture that we took, just outside the restaurant.
The mariachi band was so awesome! They went to each table asking for requests. We requested La Bamba, and they did such a great job! Then we got the giggles as we watched them perform their next song. The chorus had these two quick yells, and they lifted one leg, doing two quick pelvic thrusts to match! They had such good moves and were extremely entertaining!!
We went back there to eat the very last night of our trip, and requested this song. But they ended up performing one that had even more shimmies and crazy hula hoop type moves in it! I really miss those sweet little mariachi men!!!
The next day we took a ferry to an island called Isla de Mujeres. We had lunch on the beach and walked around/shopped.
Johnny got this hilarious Nacho Libre mask!
That night we went out to dinner at a REALLY fun restaurant called Carlos and Charlie's. On our way to dinner, Johnny and Todd posed by these street performers dressed as Kiss. They were collecting tips for taking pictures with them and for standing still for a really long time.
This was our favorite night of the whole trip because the atmosphere of the restaurant was so crazy. The waiters scared different people throughout the night, doing little pranks. Also, the waiters came and grabbed me and Abby (and a bunch of other girls) and we danced with them in the restaurant and out on the street. Then they gave us piggy-back rides back to our seats. So fun!
They did a trick with my hair, putting napkins/straws in my ponytail, then pulling down really fast so it made a flower. But they didn't tell me what they were doing, and I saw they had a lighter. They just kept saying I had to hold SO still, and I was so frozen in fear that I didn't even realize that the trick was finished. (the lighter had nothing to do with their trick-it was just to scare me) We took some video of this and other funny moments that I'll try to post.
I have never laughed so hard as when they put on their very last show. Our waiter was dressed (in a gold sequin costume) as an exterminator, and another waiter was a fly. The exterminator (shown below) slowly followed the fly around the restaurant with this huge can of air trying to kill him. On his way around the room, he snuck up behind people to spray them on their bums or backs and it would scare them to death! It was the loudest noise, and they'd jump in fright and scream! Finally, he killed the fly and it was writhing on the ground forever!

This was my favorite day. These Mayan ruins were so awesome looking, I absolutely loved seeing them!
That night we went to dinner at a wild place called Senior Frogs. We loved these chairs!
Abby and I enjoying our daily pina coladas!
Our last day was spent taking a tour at Chitzen Itza. On our way there, we stopped at this cool underground cavernous spring.
